Training, Graduation and Certification Program
Below you will find all the information on the different levels we offer within the process to become a Certified Matchmaker (CMM)
Matchmaking Graduation: you need to purchase our comprehensive training kit ("Home Study Kit to Becoming a Professional Matchmaker"). This interactive home training workbook is designed to get you actively thinking about why you want to be a matchmaker, the skills you have to offer and the skills you want/need to acquire or refine. Most importantly, this workbook will provide you with all the information you need to become a professional, certified Matchmaker.
Once you have read it, you will have the opportunity to go online and take a test to ensure you carefully read the Home Study Kit.

Matchmaking Certification:
Once you have read the kit and passed the test, you have the choice - in order to become a Certified Matchmaker (CMM) - to either:
- attend a one-day in person local training
The training is offered in several areas around the world, so you can choose the location most convenient to you. This one-day training will enable you to have an interactive learning experience which will be targeted to your local area market of matchmaking. The training will be hands-on, focusing on three major areas of study: sales, personal coaching and business model review. You will receive your Matchmaker Certificate, along with your Certified Matchmaker Seal to apply on your website and stationery.
OR
- complete a series of three 60-minute sessions with a mentor over the phone over a month-period. First call focuses on business models, second call on client coaching, and third call on matchmaker solution sales. Assignments have to be completed in between mentoring sessions.
In both cases, after filling out a business plan form for approval by the Matchmaking Institute, you will be awarded a Certification in Professional Matchmaking.
You will receive your Matchmaker Certificate, along with your Certified Matchmaker Seal to apply on your website and stationary. You will also have the opportunity to join our Matchmakers Network, and receive referrals to start your business.

Exemption: Professional Matchmakers that meet the following requirements are able to be certified without the Mentoring Sessions:
- Must complete the matchmaking training and graduation as described above
- Be in business for at least two years
- Have at least 10 current clients
- Have no unresolved or pending complaints
- Have a working website
- Agree to follow the Matchmaking Institute's code of ethics
